When it comes to streaming on the other hand, generally a hour video for example will play for 1 hour, unless there are occasional delays which are caused by buffering due to unstable internet connection. 2. Quality

With streaming, any lost or damaged packets for that matter are not resent meaning they are completely ignored. However that does not usually matter because videos which are digitally streamed are converted back into analog format before you can watch them. 3. Servers

A plug-in is therefore needed in your web-browser to handle streaming files that you want to receive.

6. Multiple users

For downloads, when more people tend to download a file at the same time, it becomes harder for the server to work and the slower it works, the longer it takes for each client to download files.

When it comes to streaming, each client takes a separate stream because different people tend to start streaming the same video at the different times. Another kid of streaming produces a single stream allowing many people to watch or listen to files simultaneously especially for those watching live events such as football matches.

7. Copyright

A downloaded file which simply put is copied into the viewer’s computer, is easy to post on other websites, easy to email and that is enough to cause copyright issues but for streaming, files are deleted as soon as they are viewed or listened to, and so there is fewer evidence in the user’s computer for copyright issues.
